JC Hollingsworth Company is a full-service structural engineering and consulting firm founded by Chris Hollingsworth following an 8-year stint with Kyzer & Timmerman Structural Engineers.
Chris began his career in 1993 as a framing carpenter. During that time, his interest in structural design took root. He would further his knowledge in structural engineering by attending Clemson University in 1995 and graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1999 with his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees. After finishing his academic career at Clemson, Chris joined the Kyzer & Timmerman team, where he would remain an integral part until he left in 2008 to launch JC Hollingsworth Co. The firm has undoubtedly grown since then. Today, the staff includes five engineering and drafting personnel who have obtained either an Associate or Bachelor of Science degree with a specialty in engineering. In addition, Thomas Hanna P.E., a long-time colleague who joined the team in 2012, is now a partner in the firm.
From the beginning, JC Hollingsworth Co. has provided structural engineering design and consultation services that have been valuable to architects, owners, and designers. With our experience diagnosing and correcting problems, we now offer an expansive list of consultation services which includes everything from building condition assessments to complete restoration and repair plans. We are also available from the earliest design stages to provide guidance, project management, and contract administration. Moreover, we can offer support and design clarification during the bidding and construction processes.
